Borges Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira Dão Red 2020 distinguished with 16.5 Points
Borges Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira Dão Red 2020 awarded 16.5 points by the esteemed journalist João Paulo Martins.
"For many years, the Dão region has had, as its watermark, blended wines, to the detriment of varietal wines. While it's true that all companies have varietal wines, there's a quartet of red grape varieties that tend to work very well together and are usually the spokespersons for the region. I'm referring to Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Jaen, and Alfrocheiro. The differences from producer to producer correspond, then, to the percentages each assigns to each of these varieties. Time has shown the fairness of this blend, always balanced and very expressive in terms of the elegance that the region provides to the wines."
"Warm and mature aroma, with lightly macerated fruit and a well-achieved balsamic touch. Soft and round on the palate, it will be the perfect partner for oven-roasted dishes." (JPM)
